My Skills is the national directory of training. It helps job seekers, students and employers find the training that best suits their needs. Its aim is to be the ‘Google of VET information’ – a place where Australians can easily find and compare information about VET providers and courses.
Since 2011, Education Services Australia has worked closely with the Australian Government Department of Education and Training to assist them with the technical delivery of the My Skills website, and the Preparing Secondary Students for Work website.
ESA’s solution provides a powerful, yet easy, way to consume data from multiple information resources. This information is then transformed and displayed on the website for public consumption. The website has been designed to support a range of devices, including mobile, tablet and desktop.
Through continuing improvements to functionality, information and promotion, the website has enjoyed 35 per cent growth in visitors (year on year). The 2016–17 financial year saw the continuation of the increased status of My Skills as evidenced by the 1.8 million visitors.
The fourth iteration, released on 23rd November 2017, encompasses a modern interface and underlying improvements.
